One of my readers, Rich, actually suggested this idea for a fielding practice that uses the right side of your little league baseball field. I’ve included it for you below.
From Rich…
PFP
I like to call this baseball drill PFP, or pitchers fielding practice.
Basically you just have the right side of your infield (1B, 2B, P, & C).
Take a bunch of ground balls and have them “make the play”. By isolating these 4 positions you get a lot of reps, and we also like to stress communication.
How many times have we seen a young pitcher not know where to go on a bunt?
How many times have we seen a pitcher and a 1st baseman both chase the little dribbler that’s headed toward 2nd?
Giving these positions a lot of reps during PFP will minimize their mistakes come Game-day.
