As a baseball player, you need to continually develop your baseball fielding skills. Good baseball fielding requires a combination of mobility, speed, agility and ball-handling skills.
Agility is critical to having good footwork, and young players need to learn the proper footwork for playing in the outfield. If they have the ability to move in all directions, they will be able to field balls that are hit and thrown at various locations and speeds.
In today’s video blog post, we are demonstrating a great baseball fielding agility drill for your fielders that focuses on improving agility and footwork through the use of cross steps and drop steps, which will help your players explode out of the ready position and move to the ball as quickly as possible. This also increases range and reduces errors by ensuring they have time to execute proper fielding technique. The better a baseball fielder’s range, the more plays he can make!
