In today’s video blog post, we are demonstrating an excellent hitting drill that utilizes a balance board! It works the inner muscles of the thighs, which is critical for balance and power.

The “Balance Board” Hitting Drill

The Balance Board is also called a “K Board”. It is 28 inches long and 16 inches wide with a 2×4 in the center.

The player steps up onto the board, with his feet as wide as possible and heels behind toes.

At this time, the goal and objective is to balance the board without it touching the ground for as long as possible. This works the inner muscles of the thigh, which is critical in the hitting area when it comes to torque, balance and power from the lower half.

The second part of the drill involves the hitter looking at the pitcher with the bat in his hands. This is very difficult to do, but is a must for the second part of the K-Board Balance Board hitting drill.
