Coming up with new ideas for [tag]fun baseball drills for youth[/tag] can sometimes be a challenge. Here’s a couple of [tag]drills[/tag] that Cindy and Kathleen sent to me. Give them a try!

This is a [tag]baseball[/tag] [tag]running[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] I used with my T-Ball and Coach pitch teams.
Have some players line up behind second base, the rest behind home plate. The players at home each have a ball. The [tag]coach[/tag] says ball’s hit and the player at home runs to second base and hands off the ball. The second base player runs to home. To start each runner the coach says ball’s hit.
This is a great way for the kids to run off some energy and learn [tag]baserunning[/tag].

One thing I have my young team do at the start of practice so that they concentrate is that the first two who complete 20 good throws and catches do not have to run laps (or as many laps) as the rest of the kids. I find this to be a good incentive to concentrate.
