One thing I have found is with the fielders, outfield or infield, young to older youth, is when throwing in a [tag]baseball[/tag] from the field they’re not sure where the ball is going. Try these [tag]youth baseball drills[/tag] to help improve fielding.

So, we have started a [tag]baseball drill[/tag] of hitting or throwing the baseball to them and setting up a large trash can to throw the ball back to.  The goal is to throw the ball in the can while it’s lying down on it’s side.  You can even use smaller cans as they get better.

We make a game out of it and the boys like the sound of the baseball hitting inside the can.  They are “awing and oohing” each other.  But it makes the  focus on throwing the ball straight and to the object they are throwing at.

You will see your fielders skills improve quickly.
