From Ron…
I am a [tag]baseball coach[/tag] of two teams, minors AND a 15 year old Legion team. This [tag]baseball drill[/tag] is used for both.
Throwing drill:
Draw “T” in dirt in front of each player lining up from each other waiting to play catch.
Both players straddles the “I” in the “T”.
Player with the baseball (using a 4 seam grip) does the following:
– Hops out to the “-“, or top of the “T”
– Hops twice
– Points glove directly at target (during hoping)
– Concentrates on replacing glove with hand during throw to waiting player
This drill gets players in proper throwing position and increases accuracy of throws. I run this drill with all players as practice begins. ALL throw on cadence, “Turn, hop, hop, throw”.
