Drill Setup

  • Pitcher stands behind the mound with a ball and glove.

How it Works

  1. Pitcher takes the ball and throws it to home from behind the mound.
  2. Perform 10-15 repetitions.
He moves forward and then throws the ball with a good bend of the front knee.

Coaching Tips

  • Getting a good bend of the front knee is essential in this drill. Player should be throwing uphill and thus bending knee to get the ball to home.
  • Pitcher should exaggerate the motion of bending the front knee in this drill.
