In today’s video blog post, we are demonstrating the “Back Of The Mound” pitching drill.

 

 

“Back Of The Mound” Pitching Drill

The purpose of this pitching drill is to make sure that those players that have trouble obtaining and bending the knee can get used to bending their front side knee.   This pitching drill is so useful because it makes them throw slightly uphill.

Notice that the pitcher is on the back side of the mound, and he’s working on obtaining a feeling of the front knee bend so that he doesn’t land stiff-legged.
